The night is cold
Clean

The moon and stars shine brightly
Like chips of silver
Scattered by a cosmic hand
Across the vault of night

The land is blanketed by white
Asleep
Waiting for spring
To melt the cover and awaken
New life

Standing under moonlight
Breath showing life in the snow
Drawn from home and fire
To bear witness to the sky

A moment in time
Clarity
Peace

The voice of the world itself
Heard in the mind
Felt in the heart
Clasped by the spirit

Eyes raised to heavens
Feet upon the ground
A question cast
Between earth and sky

There is an answer
In the silence
Without words
Beyond understanding

Back to home and fire
To ponder what is
And wonder at what will be
On the world beneath the crystal night.
